Don’t upgrade to Windows 10 yet

July 29, 2015 marks the day Windows 10 will be released. Of course we have had this most recent addition to Microsoft’s product range on our test bench. Unfortunately, it was found that at this time it is not compatible with a 1A network. Therefore please do not upgrade to Windows 10 until your 1A-partner or we inform you otherwise.

One of the main components of an IT system is the ability to store data. This often occurs in a database. The 1A-server has used with the dominant open source database server MySQL since the beginning. However, in recent years reasons have arisen to replace it. We have now made the switch to MariaDB.

Changes for Zarafa groupware

With Zarafa on the 1A-server you not only have access to e-mail, but also to calendars and contacts. Recently we have installed new versions of WebApp and Z-Push. We also have aligned Online Backup and Zarafa backups in a more efficient way.

Tuesday, May 26th, NPO1 broadcasted a report about a huge privacy leak over the internet in the show Opgelicht?!. This vulnerability is caused by plug & play settings in routers and network storage. Your 1A-server is located between the router and your network, so your corporate network is safe from this privacy leak. But are you safe at home as well?
