Zarafa WebApp 2.2.0

Zarafa WebApp 2.2.0 is finally available. In this version, the design has been completely overhauled. The new design is cleaner and offers more space for content which is important. You can choose from a number of different themes and the colors of the calendars can be customized under “Settings”.

Configuring e-mail on mobile made easy

A commonly used functionality of Zarafa is the ability to sync with mobile devices. That is why we now offer support for AutoDiscovery, which makes configuring this much easier. Also other mail software with support for AutoDiscovery, such as Outlook for Android, will be easier to configure.

Changes for Zarafa groupware

With Zarafa on the 1A-server you not only have access to e-mail, but also to calendars and contacts. Recently we have installed new versions of WebApp and Z-Push. We also have aligned Online Backup and Zarafa backups in a more efficient way.

Zarafa: New client with automatic repair and Click-to-Run support

The Zarafa client ensures that users have a great Outlook experience and can also take advantage of the advanced features Zarafa offers. Unfortunately, it would happen that Microsoft released an update for MS Office which caused annoying popups to appear when starting Outlook and the advanced features of Zarafa did not work. There was nothing for it but to wait for a new version of the client. This is now a thing of the past!

Improved Out of Office messages

With Zarafa on the 1A-server, you do not only have access to e-mail, but also to calendars and contacts. Zarafa now has more options for tuning Out of Office messages.

We have immediately made use of this by modifying our plugin for handling Out of Office messages. From now on these automated replies will not be sent from email addresses which are shared with others.

How to configure your Out-of-Office reply

With Zarafa on the 1A server, it is also possible to configure an Out of Office message for when you go on holiday or are absent for the day. This is easily configured with the webmail clients WebApp or WebAccess or in Microsoft Outlook.

Support for Zarafa has been present on the 1A server for years now. This alternative for Exchange is laden with functionality for email, calendars and contacts. However, this can also cause heavy load on a 1A server. Of course 1A First Alternative is constantly improving the 1A server. Phase-out of Open-Xchange

1A First Alternative has supported the current version of Open-Xchange for years. Meanwhile, almost all of our groupware customers use Zarafa. To deploy our resources more efficiently, it was decided to phase-out Open-Xchange.
